Dr. Desai has over 45 years of experience in Neurology. He was previously a clinical professor at Wayne State Medical School, associated with Detroit Medical Center, and was Chief of Neurology and Medical Director of Neurophysiology at DMC Northwest Division from 1982 through 1999. Dr. Desai is a graduate of Government Medical College of Baroda University. He completed his residency training and fellowship in Vascular Neurology at Detroit Medical Center WSU Affiliated Hospitals. Dr. Desai is board certified in General Neurology,  with expertise in seizures, strokes, memory loss, headache, neck pain and spine problems, and epilepsy.
